[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [2.4s] I'm, I feel anxious to get going. [5.2s] I take the bird in my hands, close my eyes like I did when we were praying. [9.4s] The warmth begins to come back. [11.2s] You open your hands and you look down at the bird [17.1s] and it begins flapping its wings, slow at first and then quicker, and it takes flight. [25.0s] I pack up, you know, I throw my pack back on my shoulders and pick up my stuff and I'm [29.4s] I'm ready. [30.2s] Seem like a good kid. [31.5s] I want to do you a favor. [32.8s] I'm going to need something in return. [34.6s] But I need to know that you can use these tools that are laid out here [38.2s] as you say they are your possessions. [41.4s] I'm verily proficient in the tools you seek. [44.1s] There is a certain higher up who carries a ledger. [49.0s] Hey listen, you want out of here? [50.2s] No. [50.7s] What's your mission? [52.1s] I steal something from Dinglehopper Never Never. [54.3s] Lord Dagglet Never Ember. [55.8s] That's what I said. [57.0s] I'm looking for Mr. Gabriel. [60.1s] I'm sure you're of the highest character. [62.2s] If you were to find him, perhaps the Fallen Tower. [65.5s] I'm too drunk to teach you right now. [67.8s] Can I find you somewhere tomorrow? [70.1s] I'll probably be here. [71.2s] Okay. [72.6s] Maybe come by a little earlier in the day. [74.7s] I've never seen anything like you before. [77.5s] I'm a dragonborn. [78.8s] My name's Glim. [81.3s] It's very nice to meet you Glim. [82.8s] I'm Moot. [84.0s] Nice to meet you, Moot. [85.1s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. [87.9s] We're a D&D 5th edition actual play podcast. [90.7s] And I'm your dungeon master, Russ More. [92.3s] And with me today is Carla Johnson. [94.5s] That is me. [95.7s] I play Norixious Akra, better known as Glim. [99.0s] And Tom Laird. [100.4s] Hey, that's me. [101.5s] I play Moot. [102.7s] He's a half-orc wild magic sorcerer. [106.2s] And Amy More. [108.0s] Indeed I am. [109.6s] I play Sullivan Slyte or Sully, a lightfoot halfling rogue. [115.2s] How's everybody doing? [116.9s] Great. [117.6s] I'm a dragonborn pAlydin. [119.2s] I didn't say that. [120.4s] You didn't. [120.9s] You have to say it because it's all new. [122.4s] It's new. [122.8s] I have to say it. [125.1s] New things. [125.8s] New things are happening. [145.7s] Setzer, you rock. [147.2s] You rock. [147.8s] Thank you. [148.6s] If you want to join us over on Patreon, that's Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [153.9s] We'd really love to see you. [155.4s] Let's just jump right in. [156.4s] Fuck it. [156.9s] Let's play D&D. [163.0s] Previously, Glim, you have made it to Neverwinter. [167.3s] And you just met an interesting half-orc who just ran the other direction. [172.8s] So now it's night-time-ish, early night-time dusk. [177.3s] What you doing? [179.6s] I think I will probably grab a snack and then like wander. [187.2s] Just to like, like Glim hasn't been anywhere, right? [191.0s] She's so sheltered. [192.4s] So just to, yeah, like check out this new city. [196.9s] Sure. [197.4s] So you've come into kind of the northeastern entry to Neverwinter. [205.8s] There is a large outcropping where caravans can kind of pull in, [211.0s] offload everything that they need to and then ride back out. [214.7s] In the vicinity, you see a few different shops, most of which are closed at this point. [220.2s] There's a bustle of noise going on down the street [225.0s] in the direction that the half-orc ran. [227.1s] There is a dimly lit information center. [230.8s] Which calls to you? [232.2s] It does. [233.1s] For some reason that calls to me. [235.0s] But I need my snack first. [237.3s] As far as people kind of in the street, [239.0s] there are mostly the people that you were on the caravan with. [242.3s] But yeah, that's what you see. [244.0s] Dude, you need your snack first. [245.4s] I thought you'd have like literally a baggie of like, I don't know, granola. [251.2s] Oh, I'm sure I do. [252.6s] I'm sure I have snacks. [253.9s] Trail mix. [255.0s] Totally. [255.5s] No, no, that's like so on brand for Glim. [258.2s] You pull out a snack pack, like that's how. [261.3s] No, what is something like granola? [263.3s] Like that's like some gorp. [264.6s] Like that seems right. [266.6s] Maybe I'll ask my good friend from the caravan. [271.8s] I want to ask them where I should go get some food. [274.2s] She's kind of busy offloading some of her stuff from one of the caravans. [278.6s] Ain't a lull? [280.1s] Yes. [280.4s] You've been here before, right? [282.5s] A few times, yeah. [284.0s] Where would I go to find some sort of delicacy on a budget from a street vendor? [294.7s] A delicacy on a budget from a street vendor. [298.2s] Well, I mean, if you walk down, you hear the noise going on down off to the east there? [303.4s] I do. [305.1s] So if you keep going down that way, you'll eventually run into the Fallen Tower, [309.0s] which is a very well-known tavern in the area. [313.6s] They've got some pretty good food and a little bit of a shady clientele from time to time. [323.0s] But also on the way, I mean, sometimes there are street vendors kind of just milling about [327.8s] getting that sweet drunk coin, you know, how they do outside of taverns. [334.5s] Awesome. [335.0s] Thank you so much. [336.0s] It was so great to travel with you. [338.6s] I love you very much. [340.2s] And I can't wait until I see you again. [343.1s] That love word again. [345.0s] Every time. [346.0s] It just really gets me. [348.1s] I am fond of you as well. [350.0s] Glam, it's a pleasure riding with you. [352.7s] I hope to see you again soon. [354.4s] See you soon. [356.6s] God, I love it. [358.3s] She's a delight. [358.9s] I love you. [360.5s] I love you very much. [362.1s] I love you very much. [362.7s] She just has had, like, that's her whole life has been that, right? [367.0s] Um, so she is going to go towards the fallen tower because shady character sounds pretty fun. [374.2s] The thing that I think is fun about Glam is like, she's very big and strong. [378.4s] So she's very innocent, but not like helpless, fearful and not helpless. [384.0s] Exactly. [385.0s] So so why not? [387.8s] Sure. [388.0s] Why not? [389.0s] There are varying degrees of inebriated people. [392.7s] I don't know how much drinking went on in your your village. [396.6s] I think it would have been a thing, probably. [399.5s] Yeah. [399.8s] Okay. [400.8s] Well, there are some people who are pretty far in as far as that goes. [405.6s] Coming from the direction that you are walking. [409.6s] Specifically, there's a human and a dwarf bustling about telling stories as they kind of [416.8s] come up to and walk past you. [419.3s] And you continue on down the way and you make it to a pretty well lit for what you've seen so far. [426.7s] Most of the stores have all their lights are are snuffed and you make it to a literal fallen tower. [435.6s] It looks like it's been broken or sheared off and it's fallen into the street. [440.3s] There's a loud jovial goings on inside. [445.7s] Great. [446.2s] Okay. [446.3s] I'm going to go in there. [450.0s] Is there a performer or anything? [452.5s] It does sound like there's a bar playing. [454.6s] Yep. [455.0s] As you as you get closer to go in and like go up to the bar and order probably like a pint of beer. [465.5s] No, I think like Glenn would drink. [467.7s] I think like she's not a child and it's like again big and strong. [472.2s] So probably has like a very good tolerance for alcohol because she's like big. [478.5s] Yeah. [478.7s] So you walk in and it's as far as like the outside goes is it looks like a destroyed tower inside. [485.4s] It looks very well kept all things considered. [488.6s] There's warm woods. [491.0s] Most of the tables are pretty much full. [493.4s] Some of them have a couple people passed out on them. [496.6s] Others look like they're kind of finishing up their drinks and moving out. [500.0s] Given the later hour. [503.3s] May you walk up to the bar. [506.0s] There is a dwarven woman behind the bar and she's busy serving some people who are [514.2s] more or less taking up most of her attention. [517.2s] But she kind of catches you out of the corner of her eye. [519.7s] Walk up and she kind of hushes them for a little while. [523.1s] Slams a couple of tankards down in front of them and walks over to you and says, [526.6s] What can I do for you there miss? [528.3s] Hi, could I get a pint of your finest ale? [531.9s] And can I still get something to eat? [534.2s] Is it too late? [535.6s] Yeah, no, well, I mean, it's getting a little bit late, [538.8s] but we can certainly give you some food here. [542.7s] Is there anything in particular you're looking for? [544.9s] Let me get you that that that ale here. [547.4s] And you didn't even try for a woman's voice, do you? [550.6s] Just a dwarven woman's very mouthful. [552.4s] Dwarven woman. [553.2s] Very, very deep. [554.6s] Yeah, well, all types. [556.6s] She's a very sexy voice. [558.0s] All types. [559.2s] And she comes back and she's like, [560.2s] Well, the menu's been pretty picked clean. [562.8s] We've still got some of the special tonight. [564.3s] It's roasted tarantula with hairs carefully singed off [567.4s] and their fangs used for toothpicks later. [572.5s] Tarantula. [573.4s] There's a lovely sauce that goes with it too. [576.4s] No, I mean, tarantula is my number two favorite spider to eat. [579.8s] So perfect. [581.0s] What's your number one? [582.5s] You know that big one that like eats birds? [584.8s] It's like really big, so it's like quite meaty [587.4s] because, you know, I've got a big appetite. [589.6s] I haven't eaten any of those. [591.8s] They're like didn't even know there were spider eating birds. [595.0s] They're enormous. [595.7s] Wow, you must have traveled. [597.0s] You must have traveled all over the place to see spiders like that. [599.9s] Oh, I haven't been anywhere. [601.7s] Those are local to where I'm from. [603.7s] That's terrifying. [608.4s] I like you, though. [609.5s] I like you. [610.2s] I'm going to go get you some tarantulas. [612.4s] Extra sauce because I feel like it. [615.3s] Hey, thanks. [616.2s] I like you too. [617.4s] She puts down the ale in front of you there. [621.0s] Perfect. [621.4s] She goes off into the back. [624.0s] I'm going to like scan around, see who I see. [627.8s] Who was it was like a group of people [629.8s] that she was dealing with before that are also sitting at the bar? [633.0s] Yes. [633.5s] Yeah, there looks to be two human males, [637.5s] a female half-elf and a dwarven male. [642.1s] And they're kind of they've turned into themselves, [644.7s] or not turned into themselves, [645.8s] but like turned and are talking to themselves loudly. [649.3s] Some of them are talking about joining the mercenary force [656.2s] to go off and fight against the cult of the dragon. [659.8s] Oh, yeah, I'm definitely going to want to talk to them. [665.2s] So I'll approach with my pint in my hand and say, [670.5s] excuse me. [671.7s] One of the males turns and says, [675.6s] what can I do for their dragon friend? [679.1s] Hi, I'm Glim. [680.2s] I'm so sorry to interrupt. [681.8s] I couldn't help but overhear [683.5s] that you're talking about fighting the cult of the dragon. [686.9s] Yeah, well, I mean, they're terrible. [692.1s] Well, so I just left my home to maybe help [696.6s] that fight I just got here. [698.6s] And I thought, these seem like experts. [701.8s] Maybe they can tell me the best way to help fight [705.3s] and the main sources of conflict [708.2s] and who the major players are [709.8s] and all the socio geopolitical situations [712.5s] that are happening here. [713.3s] Can you guys fill me in on that? [714.7s] They kind of look to each other and they start to laugh. [724.3s] I'm having trouble taking you seriously there, my dear. [728.5s] So what you're saying is [729.4s] you have no idea what's happening? [731.9s] Well, I wouldn't say no idea. [734.2s] A bard did come to my village and tell us that, [737.3s] you know, this cult of the dragon's trying to rise Tiamat [740.2s] and obviously I don't want that. [743.4s] I follow Bahamut, so that's, you know. [746.7s] Oh, Bahamut, a dragon god. [749.6s] But the very best believer in truth [753.4s] and justice and peace, dragon god. [756.2s] Yes, yeah, absolutely. [758.8s] You know what you can probably do is [761.8s] we need lots of people. [763.4s] You know what? [763.8s] I'm a recruiter. [766.0s] I could get you right into the battle [768.6s] if that's what you're looking for. [772.6s] Where's the battle happening? [773.9s] I've only just arrived in town. [775.4s] Would I have to ship out tonight or? [778.8s] Well, not tonight. [779.7s] We're leaving in a couple of days. [782.6s] We're actually probably leaving tomorrow morning [785.0s] and heading down south. [788.4s] Down to the Well of Dragons [791.0s] where the cult has their little setup going on down there. [794.5s] Oh, so the main headquarters, that's where. [797.3s] Yeah, we're getting all the people [800.2s] who want to just fight and do good. [803.8s] And you sound like you want to do that. [805.4s] You must be very high ranking. [808.6s] Pretty, pretty high ranking [810.2s] and he gets an elbow into the side. [813.2s] I mean, I know some people. [818.4s] Okay, and what are your names? [821.5s] My name's Lop, Lop Kim. [824.6s] And this is my friend, Ken Rat. [829.0s] Is this the two humans? [829.8s] Microphone. [832.6s] Those are the two humans. [835.8s] My dwarven friend here is Eugenie. [839.6s] And your elven friend is Gene Genie. [844.7s] Her name is Uchu. [846.6s] And they all kind of tip their head to you [849.3s] as a couple of them turn back to their drinks [852.1s] and just allow Lop to continue talking to you. [858.1s] And so how long have you been fighting [860.9s] the cult of the dragon? [863.8s] Ever since basically day one. [867.5s] No hands for hire here. [870.4s] We've been with the forces [873.0s] since they've been starting to make their way [875.6s] into little towns and villages. [878.1s] See, I'm a little bit confused [879.6s] because what I did over here, [881.0s] I was eavesdropping, I apologize, [882.6s] but it sounded like you were just thinking [886.2s] about maybe joining up. [888.2s] So I feel like one of these stories [891.4s] isn't maybe quite the truth. [895.3s] So you're eavesdropper. [896.6s] So you're pulling my leg. [897.8s] That's what you're saying. [900.9s] I like her. [901.7s] You're funny. [902.7s] You guys are funny. [903.6s] That's funny. [905.1s] So you're not fighting yet then? [908.6s] No, but I mean, I do know people [910.3s] who could probably sign you up [911.6s] if that's what you're interested in. [913.1s] And the bartender comes back with your plate [917.2s] and she says, oh, here, [918.0s] I'll just bring it down here to your drink. [920.1s] You might want to eat up. [922.2s] Thank you so much. [923.0s] Hey guys, if you, I love a laugh. [926.0s] So I'll be back after I eat my dinner. [928.6s] You can tell me some more stories maybe. [930.5s] Oh, so many, so many stories. [932.6s] I'm going to have to think of them. [933.9s] You can't believe it. [935.6s] And I walk away kind of laughing. [937.4s] I got a good sense of humor about the whole thing. [940.2s] We would pull pranks where I was from too [942.8s] on new people passing through. [944.3s] It's fine. [945.5s] And then I'm going to just like dig [947.0s] into that delicious tarantula dish [949.4s] that I'm eating apparently. [951.4s] Well, at least, you know, [953.0s] the hair has been removed. [954.8s] Carefully singed off. [956.7s] The fangs have been placed [958.2s] like toothpicks on the side of the plate. [960.6s] Delicious. [962.1s] Probably say that you kind of spend [965.0s] some more of your evening there. [967.7s] Do you go and find lodging somewhere else [970.1s] or do you try and find something there? [971.9s] If there's rooms there, [972.9s] I probably would just stay there. [974.1s] Like I really like the bartender. [975.7s] She is really great. [976.8s] And I mean, you know, I'm happy wherever [980.1s] I ate that delicious meal. [981.2s] So if I can find a room there, [982.5s] I'll just stay there. [983.2s] Sounds good. [984.2s] We'll say you get a room there [985.9s] and we'll cut to the next morning. [991.1s] Sully, you are. [996.3s] You just kind of wake up [997.5s] with the sunlight coming [999.1s] through your bars. [1001.3s] You hear a bird song outside [1004.3s] and you hear your good friend [1006.6s] Merv down the way, [1007.6s] kind of coughing and stirring [1009.3s] as he usually does [1010.3s] waking when he wakes up. [1015.5s] Hi, you're sounding old today, buddy. [1018.6s] Well, I mean, I kind of am old. [1020.9s] It's worse in the morning. [1023.0s] Well, you know, you lay down, [1024.6s] everything settles. [1026.2s] Yeah, everything kind of settles [1027.8s] and everything's got to work itself back out. [1030.4s] Work on the sea. [1031.2s] You know, there's a lot of things [1032.5s] that get in there. [1034.2s] What? [1035.9s] Sea science. [1038.2s] That doesn't sound like real science. [1039.9s] Are you ready, buddy? [1041.0s] Are you ready? [1041.8s] Today's the day. [1042.6s] What are we doing today? [1044.7s] Well, today we go in [1047.4s] and I get real close to the bars [1048.9s] and I go, we're going to steal [1051.6s] Lord Never Ember's ledger. [1053.8s] Yeah, that sounds like a terrible idea. [1055.8s] You sure you want to do this? [1058.4s] Well, OK, I guess you could stay here. [1060.3s] No, I mean, I'm going to come [1062.3s] because, you know, [1063.2s] if we get out of here. [1064.2s] But I mean, it still sounds like a terrible. [1066.2s] Do you know who Lord Never Ember is? [1068.8s] A Lord? [1070.8s] Like the Lord of Neverwinter. [1074.1s] OK, cool. [1075.3s] Oh, my God. [1076.1s] Do you think he has more than one ledger? [1080.0s] I mean, did you not get a description of the ledger? [1084.0s] Yeah, I'm sure I did at some point. [1087.2s] I have total faith that this plan is going to work. [1089.6s] I love that the biggest concern [1091.0s] is that there might be more than one ledger. [1094.1s] I'm just going to walk into a vast, like, ledger room. [1096.7s] It's just like wall to wall, Florida ceiling, ledger. [1100.1s] It's like a ledger Rolodex. [1102.2s] Like, oh, shit, I don't even know. [1104.5s] I can't wait for this. [1105.4s] Hopefully, they give us a bag of holding or something [1107.5s] for all the ledgers we're going to find up in here. [1109.6s] Yeah, well, I was lucky to get some of the items [1112.5s] that I did manage to not leave with her, so that's fine. [1116.9s] That's good. [1117.9s] It's fine. [1118.7s] So, yeah, you sound ready. [1120.3s] Totally ready, totally ready. [1122.1s] Let's do this. [1122.8s] Door opens to the jails. [1124.2s] As soon as I say, let's do this. [1126.2s] And one of the guards walks in with the tray of bread. [1129.4s] I'm like, OK, I'm going to do this. [1131.7s] And one of the guards walks in with the tray of breakfast. [1135.5s] More slop. [1137.0s] Slides it under Merv's, and then slides it down to yours, [1139.6s] and then turns to Leif. [1141.1s] Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. [1143.2s] What? [1145.8s] Are we getting out? [1147.2s] Why would you get out? [1148.1s] You're prisoners. [1149.5s] Well, we've got a secret mission. [1152.7s] Yeah, that's what all prisoners say. [1154.7s] Do they really? [1155.6s] Yeah. [1156.2s] They all say they have a secret mission? [1157.9s] All of them. [1158.5s] They say they're here on a secret mission, [1160.2s] and they've been wrongfully accused, [1161.8s] and they shouldn't be hanged or have their head chopped off. [1164.9s] Yeah, I bet anyone in that situation would say that. [1167.0s] But no, I just had a meeting with Miss Fuck. [1172.7s] I've never met Miss Fuck. [1174.5s] Well, then you're missing out, my friend. [1177.0s] Sounds like it. [1178.3s] Miss Mam Meow Meow. [1180.1s] Miss Madame Meow Meow. [1182.9s] I have mam down here. [1185.1s] Miss Mam Meow Meow. [1186.2s] All right, Miss Mam Meow Meow Meow. [1189.0s] Wait, hold on. [1189.6s] Are there three meows? [1191.7s] Meow? [1195.9s] Say that again, meow. [1197.8s] Like meow? [1199.7s] So, wait. [1200.8s] Are you super drooping? [1204.3s] Eat your slap right meow, [1205.4s] and then I'll come back with Miss Madame Meow Meow and meow. [1211.0s] Miss Mam Meow Meow is not going to come down here and talk to me, [1214.6s] but I just went up there and talked to her, [1216.1s] and I'm not going to tell you the secret plan. [1217.6s] You look like a lackey. [1219.7s] You got me right. [1221.2s] Cool, but like, could you just tell her? [1223.5s] Yeah, I'll go tell her. [1224.2s] Okay, thanks. [1224.7s] Yeah, I got her direct line right here. [1227.6s] He walks out and he flips the bird as he walks. [1230.0s] I flip him back. [1231.6s] Both of them, my teeny tiny fingers through the bars. [1235.3s] As the door shuts, Merv says, are you sure? [1238.9s] No. [1239.1s] There's a secret mission? [1240.4s] Yes. [1242.0s] I didn't just make up that whole conversation. [1246.7s] I didn't just make up that whole conversation. [1249.8s] Make a persuasion shit. [1251.1s] Oh my god. [1254.6s] All right, all right. [1256.9s] Well, hopefully they come for us soon [1258.9s] because we're getting out on our own here. [1260.7s] Well, you know what? [1261.3s] We're just fueling up. [1262.2s] They just want us to fuel up before we go. [1264.5s] That's all that is. [1265.0s] He picks up his slop tray and sits back down [1267.6s] and starts eating away at it. [1270.3s] I kind of push mine around a little bit. [1272.2s] I'm picky. [1276.8s] Where are you? [1277.9s] You're probably waking up at this point. [1280.4s] Sure, back at Nogwoods. [1282.4s] Yeah, so you went back to Nogwoods. [1284.3s] You ran back after meeting this dragonborn [1287.0s] who helped you up in the street. [1288.9s] So you're waking up. [1290.0s] You had made it back. [1292.2s] There was a key and a note left on the main door [1295.8s] or main kind of desk at the entrance way there [1299.0s] because everybody had gone to sleep by that point [1302.6s] with some directions to your dorm. [1305.2s] You had made it safe and sound [1307.8s] and now you're waking up the next morning. [1311.2s] Lovely bird song and lights coming in [1313.6s] through the shade. [1317.0s] What time of the morning is it? [1319.3s] How late does Moot sleep? [1320.6s] I guess should be the better question. [1322.2s] Well, he's still a youngster [1323.6s] so he takes as much opportunity [1325.7s] to get all the sleep that he can. [1327.8s] So I'll say until, yeah, 1030? [1330.6s] Sure, knowing your appointment [1332.1s] isn't until the lunch hour. [1334.2s] You sleep the better part of the morning away [1336.6s] and are waking up. [1337.8s] Sun's a little higher in the sky [1339.4s] than had previously mentioned. [1340.6s] Maybe you woke up a little bit [1342.0s] and you just close your eyes again [1343.4s] and then woke up at 1030. [1345.4s] I'm going to put on the best clothes that I brought [1348.6s] because it's the first day of school. [1350.5s] Got to look sharp. [1353.0s] And I'm going to head back over. [1355.3s] I'm assuming Gabriel's back at the inn again [1358.9s] or am I eating him somewhere else? [1361.4s] I think he told you to meet him there [1364.9s] at the Fallen Tower. [1366.8s] Okay, yeah. [1367.4s] So one final spot check in the mirror before I go [1370.6s] and I make my way back to the Fallen Tower. [1375.4s] You make your way back down [1376.7s] and you pass by Shilso who calls to you [1380.6s] and says, you found everything okay? [1383.5s] Everything was great. [1384.2s] The note and the key, it was all perfect. [1386.7s] Ah, good. [1387.4s] Yes, yes. [1387.9s] Well, good. [1389.0s] Well, you're off for your day then? [1391.0s] Are you going to go do what people [1395.2s] who don't go to this school but stay here do? [1397.9s] Yeah, I'm going to go talk to this Gabriel guy [1401.5s] and see if he can teach me a thing or two. [1403.8s] And I had a question. [1405.0s] Is there like a laundry service here at the school as well? [1407.9s] Because I mean, I only brought a couple of outfits [1409.9s] and one is pretty dirty after some travel. [1412.6s] So I wonder if I can maybe get it cleaned. [1415.2s] Yep, we could probably do that for you. [1418.2s] You're staying here. [1419.0s] We can just, if you just, you know, here's a bag. [1424.3s] Just leave it outside your door. [1425.9s] It'll be cleaned up for you by the time you get back. [1428.6s] Oh, oh, perfect. [1429.5s] That's awesome. [1430.2s] So I run back to my room and throw those clothes in a bag. [1436.4s] You head back out and down and out to the Fallen Tower [1439.9s] unless you're stopping anywhere else on the way. [1443.1s] No, I figured I'd probably go right there nice and early. [1445.4s] You know, apt pupil, et cetera. [1447.8s] You make it there, I'd say you'd probably make it there [1451.9s] early-ish, like probably quarter two, 1130 quarter two. [1455.4s] That seem fair? [1456.6s] Sure. [1457.8s] You stroll in and there's a, it's a very thin crowd [1461.4s] compared to the scene that you walked into last night. [1467.7s] There's one bartender who's kind of cleaning up, [1471.4s] cleaning up the glasses and the tables [1473.4s] and just rearranging after a night of frivolity [1478.6s] that the city had underwent. [1481.0s] Is there the bartender that was working yesterday in there? [1483.7s] Is there a different one this time? [1486.1s] There is a different one. [1489.3s] Perfect. [1489.8s] I'll stroll over to the bar and I'll say, [1494.1s] Bartender, have you seen Gabriel? [1496.6s] Has he been in yet? [1497.7s] Gabriel, no. [1502.2s] He usually gets in later. [1507.5s] I'm supposed to meet him here at noon. [1510.7s] Okay, well, hopefully he's keeping his appointments today. [1519.0s] The way you said that makes it seem like maybe [1520.9s] that's not what happens every day. [1522.3s] Is that not what happens every day? [1524.4s] You don't know Gabriel very well, do you? [1526.7s] Uh, no, no. [1529.0s] Okay, well, sometimes he does. [1531.4s] Sometimes he's really good. [1532.6s] Sometimes he's punctual and sometimes he's not. [1537.4s] So, okay, so just, I'll get, I'll get what I get, I guess, huh? [1541.8s] That's what I'm getting at. [1543.4s] Can I get you anything while you wait? [1545.7s] Do you have any, like, decks of cards or anything [1550.0s] I can maybe borrow or kill some time before he shows up? [1553.4s] He kind of looks around. [1556.5s] I think we used to have something here. [1559.5s] He lifts up a bunch of stuff underneath one of the tables [1562.9s] or behind the bar and then pulls out a deck of cards [1566.3s] and tosses it across to you. [1567.5s] So yeah, there you go. [1571.1s] I'll just go. [1572.2s] Nothing to eat or drink? [1574.1s] Yeah, do you have something like a lighter beer? [1577.5s] Something in that neighborhood? [1578.6s] It's a little early for me to start with the heavy stuff. [1581.5s] I mean, we got water. [1583.4s] I'll take one of those, sure. [1587.8s] What's the lightest beer you have? [1590.2s] Water. [1590.7s] Some places do not look kindly on those who order just water. [1594.2s] That's fair. [1595.1s] You seem like a nice kid and you're going to be waiting on Gabriel a while. [1598.5s] I'm not going to steal your money. [1600.1s] I'll give you some water. [1602.2s] He slides a glass across the bar to you. [1605.8s] Perfect, yeah, thanks. [1606.6s] I'll just, I'll be over there. [1608.1s] If you see Gabriel, send him my way. [1609.4s] I'm sure you'll see him before anybody else does. [1614.9s] Well, I'm just going to be looking at the door nonstop, so yes, probably. [1618.9s] If he sneaks in through the back way, there's no back way. [1623.6s] Just keep an eye out. [1624.6s] Perfect, will do. [1625.4s] He goes back to shining up the glasses there. [1627.8s] So you sit down at one of the tables [1630.6s] and you hear some footsteps coming down the stairs [1634.6s] and you see the dragonborn that you saw last night as Glim enters the room. [1639.4s] Glim, what do you do? [1640.4s] I mean, I was just making the stupidest big smile [1642.9s] and that's probably, was actually, I, Carla, was doing it. [1648.5s] But really, it's probably what Glim would do too [1650.9s] because she would recognize him. [1652.3s] She'd be excited. [1654.8s] So I'm going to walk down the stairs and... [1658.8s] Tell him you love him. [1660.6s] Not yet. [1661.5s] I barely know him. [1662.7s] I just really like him. [1663.7s] We did not ride on a caravan together for days on end. [1665.3s] I really like him quite a bit. [1667.4s] He was so clumsy. [1670.0s] What's falling down? [1671.9s] So yeah, I'm going to walk up and say, [1674.4s] good morning. [1675.4s] Oh, oh, it's you again. [1677.8s] Hi. [1678.0s] It's you again. [1679.0s] How are you? [1680.4s] I'm great. [1681.7s] I had a great night's sleep last night. [1683.8s] I'm excited for, I guess it's my first day of school to an extent. [1688.6s] Oh, that's an exciting day. [1690.6s] I can't remember if I gave you my name. [1692.5s] I'm Glim and I hold my hand out. [1695.6s] Yeah, yeah, Glim, it's Moot. [1698.0s] Moot, it is so great to see you again. [1700.2s] Where are you going to go to school? [1701.7s] What are you going to go to school for? [1703.1s] Tell me everything. [1704.8s] Okay, to answer the first question, I think it's here. [1709.6s] Is it like a bartending school? [1711.4s] No, no. [1712.6s] Second question will cover that. [1714.6s] I'm trying to learn magic. [1719.4s] Oh. [1719.9s] There was a guy here last night that the school, [1723.8s] the Nogwood School of Wizcraft and Witchery [1727.0s] sent me over here to talk to this Gabriel fellow. [1730.0s] So I'm hoping he'll be able to help me out. [1732.6s] What kind of magic? [1733.4s] I see you've got cards. [1734.3s] Are you going to do like card tricks? [1736.7s] Sleight of hand? [1737.6s] What kind of magic are you going to learn? [1739.7s] If only. [1740.5s] We had a magician, quote unquote, [1743.1s] that came to our village one time and he was really good with that stuff. [1747.3s] But he wouldn't tell me how any of them were done. [1749.4s] I love a magician. [1751.4s] I guess it's in their code or something that they don't want to tell you. [1755.1s] I asked so many questions and they wouldn't tell me any of the secrets. [1758.1s] Yeah, it's the worst. [1759.8s] But no, so I don't think it's going to be that type of magic. [1765.3s] I seem to have what the lady at the school called was wild magic. [1771.2s] Oh, that sounds exciting and kind of dangerous. [1775.3s] Is it dangerous? [1776.2s] It was scary. [1777.6s] Yeah, I can't really control it. [1780.1s] So I'm hoping that's what Gabriel can help me out with. [1783.3s] Wow. [1783.8s] You know what? [1784.2s] It sounds like we have a lot in common because I also have a very special gift. [1789.3s] Really? [1791.2s] I'm like, I mean, this sounds conceited, [1794.9s] but I think I'm like maybe going to help save the world. [1798.8s] I have a calling. [1800.6s] Wow. [1801.5s] Yeah, I mean, no, I shot like this freezing ray out of my hands one time. [1805.0s] Yours is way cooler. [1806.2s] I don't know if it is. [1807.0s] A freezing ray sounds pretty cool. [1809.2s] But like saving the world, that's awesome. [1811.4s] Well, I mean, if I'm going to be honest, and we're friends now, [1814.2s] so I feel like I can be honest, I don't exactly know how I'm going to do that. [1822.3s] Okay. [1823.0s] But I think that I can. [1825.3s] I'm looking for, hey, I'm looking for some people to help me. [1832.4s] And I... [1833.6s] To help you save the world? [1835.0s] This sounds kind of crazy, but I think you might be one of them. [1841.5s] What makes you say that? [1842.7s] I'm like, I don't even know how to do this magic stuff. [1847.4s] I just have a feeling. [1849.0s] I don't know. [1849.8s] I don't know, Moot. [1850.6s] I just have a feeling about you. [1853.3s] Okay, that's cool. [1855.1s] The door opens with a loud bang and then heavy footsteps and Moot, [1861.3s] you see Gabriel kind of, he's got a hat that's low on his face. [1867.6s] Sunglasses are on. [1869.1s] Tucked into himself. [1871.0s] And he goes over and up to the bar and just holds up a finger [1875.0s] and the bartender slides him a drink as he kind of just sits there for a moment [1880.3s] while you're still conversing. [1882.7s] Have I noticed Gabriel come in or am I...? [1885.4s] Yeah, I mean, I figure you've kind of got at least half an eye on the door [1890.0s] the whole time even while you're talking with Glim. [1892.7s] So yeah, you definitely see him. [1894.4s] I kind of excitedly tap Glim on the hand. [1899.6s] I say, oh, that's him. [1900.4s] That's Gabriel. [1902.0s] That's the guy who's going to teach me. [1904.5s] That guy. [1906.2s] Yeah, that's who the school told me to find. [1909.1s] Glim, you definitely see someone who is... [1912.2s] He looks pretty rough. [1912.7s] If not half in the bag, he's rough. [1915.0s] He's probably still drunk and hungover at the same time. [1918.3s] Yeah, like I can probably smell him. [1921.0s] Oh, yeah, there's an odor. [1922.8s] Roll for smell. [1924.6s] Roll for odor. [1926.6s] It's a good one. [1927.2s] Yeah. [1927.8s] Yeah. [1928.4s] Pungent. [1929.2s] Yeah. [1930.5s] Huh. [1931.0s] Well, and he's a teacher? [1935.8s] Well, I guess he studied wild magic at the school [1940.4s] because he thought there was something that he could tap into with it. [1944.5s] But I guess they kind of also kicked him out of the school for... [1948.1s] I mean, the lady at the school said [1949.9s] she didn't say he wasted his time, but I think that's kind of what she felt. [1955.4s] Hmm. [1956.2s] Well, you can't judge a magician by their smell, I always say. [1964.4s] So I guess I should leave you to school. [1969.2s] It was really good to see you again. [1970.6s] Are you going to... [1971.2s] Maybe I'll see you back here. [1972.2s] I'm staying here. [1973.4s] Oh, you're staying here? [1974.4s] Cool. [1974.6s] I'm staying here. [1975.4s] I'm just over at the school, [1976.6s] but I imagine because I think this is like Gabriel's base of operations. [1980.6s] I think we're going to be here a while. [1982.7s] Okay. [1983.1s] Well, I'm going to, you know, go about my day, but you're my friend now. [1987.8s] I'm going to see you again, Moot. [1989.4s] Good luck with school. [1990.8s] That sounds like a great plan. [1992.6s] I'll see you later. [1995.3s] So I'm going to like go out and like, [1998.6s] I don't know, go look at shit or whatever. [2000.2s] There's like floating things. [2001.2s] It's amazing, right? [2002.6s] Yep. [2003.0s] Absolutely. [2003.4s] We'll catch back up with you in a moment. [2006.2s] I can't wait to hear what Gabriel's got going on. [2009.4s] Moot, you, so Glim says goodbye, you split ways, you... [2018.1s] Yeah. [2018.3s] Has he moved yet from his... [2021.8s] He's taken a couple of drinks, [2023.0s] but more or less he's been very stationary. [2027.0s] Not really. [2027.6s] It doesn't appear that he's looking for you particularly [2030.6s] or anything else in the room. [2034.2s] Okay. [2035.4s] Yeah. [2035.7s] Is he just at the bar? [2037.5s] Yeah. [2038.7s] I'll head over, sidle up next to him at the bar and say, [2045.4s] Gabriel, I'm so glad you made it. [2047.6s] You hear a low rumble, almost like a snore. [2055.8s] And I kind of tap him on the shoulder [2058.7s] and shake him a little bit and say, [2059.8s] Gabriel? [2063.5s] It's just the rest of my eyes. [2064.7s] Who are you, what? [2066.2s] Well, we met last night. [2068.2s] My name's Moot. [2071.1s] Were you the one who stole all my money? [2073.9s] Nope. [2074.2s] Definitely, definitely wasn't me. [2076.2s] Were you the one who switched my shoes? [2078.2s] Over at the school, told me to find you. [2080.5s] We chatted last night about Wild Magic. [2083.0s] You're the kid who wants to learn things. [2084.6s] You came back. [2085.3s] Yeah, you told me to come back. [2086.5s] I did. [2087.2s] You said meet here at noon. [2088.8s] I've sent a lot of people to meet here at noon and they... [2093.5s] I don't know, they don't come back. [2095.7s] I mean, at least four. [2097.3s] Anyways, so you came back. [2099.6s] Great. [2101.4s] You got magic in you. [2103.6s] I mean, yeah, that's what Savoy seemed to think. [2105.9s] And I mean, that's, I mean, yeah, I just, I don't know. [2110.4s] Like, do you think you're going to be able to help me? [2113.6s] Yeah. [2113.8s] Have you had a drink yet? [2116.2s] I had some water. [2118.6s] Had some water. [2120.4s] Well, I asked for a lighter beer and then he suggested water. [2123.6s] So I just went with that. [2126.1s] Okay. [2128.7s] You could have had some special stuff. [2130.1s] I hear that's really good in the first thing in the morning. [2132.3s] Oh, yeah. [2132.6s] You seemed to really like that last night when I got you a couple of rounds of that. [2135.9s] Yeah, it's very good. [2137.4s] Very good. [2138.8s] Okay, so we got to learn magic. [2143.4s] Out of curiosity, is that like a two-day process? [2148.6s] How many days do you want to do it in? [2150.5s] I mean, did we talk rates last night? [2153.9s] No, you just kind of sunk back into your drink and said you'd do it for free. [2161.8s] I said I'd do it for free? [2163.9s] Yeah. [2164.2s] You said that you were just so excited someone had wild magic that you were just so into it. [2170.6s] Make a deception check with advantage. [2173.8s] Because he's drunk? [2175.7s] His senses aren't really keen right now. [2179.0s] So the first one was a 16. [2181.0s] The second roll was an 11. [2183.6s] So I'll go with the 16. [2186.2s] Well, I was a philanthropist at one point. [2191.6s] So I'm probably good to teach you for free, I guess. [2196.6s] Well, that's awesome. [2197.3s] Well, I mean, I'll gladly buy a few rounds of that special stuff every now and then as a thank you. [2202.7s] Great, great. [2204.7s] Okay, so you said you had fire magic. [2211.4s] Well, the one that manifested was like ice. [2215.0s] It was like I froze people. [2218.0s] Ice is like fire of the north. [2221.9s] So is winter coming? [2225.0s] Well, maybe sometime there's seasons. [2228.2s] Do you need to teach you about seasons too? [2231.2s] No, I think I can handle that. [2233.6s] Okay, so can you show me what you got? [2238.3s] Are you sure that's safe? [2240.0s] I don't really know what I'm doing at all. [2242.6s] I mean, this place has been wrecked harder times than... [2246.4s] Well, I mean, it is literally a fallen over tower, so... [2250.1s] Right? [2250.7s] So what's the worst you could do? [2252.2s] We can't fall it over twice. [2254.1s] Well, I mean, I froze some... [2257.4s] Yeah, okay, I'll try. [2259.6s] Give me your beer. [2261.5s] What are you going to do with my beer, boy? [2263.4s] Well, I'm going to try and make it colder. [2266.6s] All right, he slides his beer. [2270.4s] So let's make a... [2273.4s] I don't want to do this. [2275.5s] Make a charisma check with disadvantage. [2278.8s] Okay. [2280.9s] Okay, first was a nat 20. [2284.5s] Shucks. [2286.1s] Second one is an 18. [2288.2s] Oh, so 21. [2290.5s] Shit, all right. [2293.4s] So describe this. [2294.7s] This is going to work really well. [2296.3s] Okay. [2296.7s] So probably better than what you're trying to do. [2300.8s] So describe to me what happens when this spell incurs. [2306.6s] I take the beer that has some condensation on it [2310.4s] because it's been sitting there for a few seconds [2312.0s] while he's been drinking it. [2313.9s] And as I touch the glass, [2318.2s] all of a sudden kind of frost starts forming around the edges [2322.9s] and the bits of condensation start freezing to the glass. [2326.7s] And I kind of like look at him like I'm doing it. [2329.9s] I'm doing it. [2331.2s] And then the glass like shatters because I'm doing it too well. [2336.2s] You see kind of a look of hope and joy in his eyes [2342.3s] as he sees the glass begin to frost. [2344.7s] And then it shatters and like his entire body just slumps. [2351.1s] I see. [2351.8s] Bartender, can you pour him another one real quick? [2357.6s] Well, you got the magic in you, boy. [2362.2s] You need to control it [2363.7s] so that you don't waste any more goddamn drinks. [2366.6s] Yeah, I mean that's why I want to learn from you. [2370.6s] I want to be able to control this. [2374.6s] Okay, good. [2377.1s] I'm going to finish this drink [2379.1s] and then we're going to go somewhere safer away from drinks. [2382.6s] I can't believe that you did this in this [2385.8s] this zone of safety for drinks. [2389.3s] This hallowed ground. [2390.3s] I'm sorry. [2391.0s] I'm sorry about that. [2391.7s] This hallowed ground for beverages. [2392.7s] You wanted me to show you what I tried my best. [2395.7s] Don't listen to me. [2397.9s] I mean, do listen to me because I'm going to teach you. [2399.8s] But yeah, it's a lot of conflicting messages here. [2401.7s] Don't touch my drink. [2404.0s] He takes another drink and begins to finish it. [2415.5s] Well, hey there, welcome to the middle part. [2419.0s] Had a little something hanky go on with our interlude recording. [2422.7s] So you just got me, which is okay, [2424.8s] because I'm here to tell you how to enter the contest. [2427.8s] You got a few days left until June 30th [2430.2s] when you can win a copy of Ghosts of Saltmarsh, [2433.0s] the latest adventure module from Wizards of the Coast. [2459.4s] And away you go. [2460.9s] You're entered to win Ghosts of Saltmarsh. [2463.6s] We'll make the draw on July 1st. [2465.4s] Contest closes June 30th. [2467.8s] We'll let the winner know via social media first [2471.2s] and then we'll make the announcement on next week's episode. [2474.5s] And speaking of next week's episode, [2476.1s] we're gonna be giving you the game [2477.1s] that Amy and I played at D&D Live 2019, The Descent. [2481.5s] It was such a fun game and such a fun setting [2484.3s] that I'm really looking forward to [2485.7s] with Baldur's Gate The Descent to Avernus or Avernus, [2490.0s] however you wanna say it. [2491.7s] But we played with Saloni from Plot Hunters, [2493.9s] Ted from Nerd Immersion, [2495.3s] Kyle from Bombarded, [2496.6s] and Renee from Fate and the Fable Maidens. [2504.2s] You have a great week and we'll talk soon. [2530.7s] Let's be honest. [2531.6s] Featuring special guests, the Venture Maidens, [2534.2s] D&D is for nerds, and more. [2536.6s] Plus, we're in Wizards of the Coast's podcast of series. [2549.8s] He just said his hopes and dreams. [2551.1s] He didn't cast a spell. [2552.4s] You gotta get down deep and lift from the knees. [2555.2s] But that's the only big organ he has. [2558.2s] Damn. [2558.8s] Taking initiative. [2559.9s] Look us up on Twitter at ti-underscore-pod [2563.0s] and on our website, takinginitiativepodcast.com. [2569.0s] You've been sitting in your cell all day now. [2572.0s] Merv calls over. [2573.4s] He's like, are you sure you're sure? [2576.2s] That's what she said. [2579.6s] You hear... [2580.3s] Guard! [2581.4s] Make a perception check. [2583.4s] Guard! [2585.2s] What about my secret mission? [2587.6s] Yeah, right? [2588.3s] Seventeen. [2590.2s] You hear footsteps and like he's jingling coming from down the hall. [2595.8s] Hello! [2598.4s] They stop outside the door and the door opens. [2602.3s] And you see the same guard you saw the night... [2607.4s] Yesterday, I guess. [2609.7s] Officer Tangrin. [2611.0s] And he's standing there and he comes into the room and says... [2616.6s] Ah, tattie boy, tattie boy. [2621.4s] Is it time for my secret mission? [2625.3s] You talk very loud about your secret mission. [2628.0s] There's two of us in here, for god's sakes. [2631.6s] I've been hearing complaints of somebody yelling out into the street. [2636.7s] I told Merv not to do that. [2639.7s] You hear him scoff. [2641.4s] He goes to unlock your cell. [2649.1s] Opens it up and then goes to unlock Merv's cell as well. [2651.8s] He's like, well, are you coming? [2653.5s] Totally. [2656.4s] The two of you follow Officer Tangrin back to Miss Mammyowmyow's office. [2663.2s] He opens the door and lets you in. [2666.4s] And Miss Mammyowmyow is sitting at her desk with all of your [2670.5s] things and Merv, what you can presume, are Merv's things out on the table. [2675.5s] Hey, Merv, are those your things? [2678.3s] Yeah. [2679.0s] You want to trade some things later? [2682.0s] No. [2682.7s] Look at my things. [2685.0s] There's nothing to mine you want. [2687.0s] You wouldn't do any sort of trade things. [2689.5s] I've seen you put things up your butt. [2692.9s] You saw nothing. [2695.0s] Things fell out of what I can only presume was your butt. [2697.9s] I don't want to touch any of your things. [2700.5s] Miss Mammyowmyow pipes in. [2702.7s] Look, you want to do this or what? [2706.2s] Oh, yeah, for sure. [2707.0s] Yes, Miss Mammyowmyow. [2708.3s] All right. [2709.4s] So here's what you're going to do. [2710.2s] You're going to take your things. [2712.8s] You're going to go to Castle Never. [2716.0s] You're going to sneak on in there to Dangle Never Embers. [2721.7s] You're going to grab a ledger. [2723.2s] Hey, does he have more than one? [2725.7s] Yes. [2726.9s] What color? [2727.5s] Good of you to ask. [2728.9s] It should be a red ledger. [2731.8s] Is there any writing on it just in case he has two red ledgers? [2736.5s] There's going to be a symbol on it. [2743.7s] No, there's not going to be symbols on it. [2748.3s] There's going to be a symbol on it. [2752.0s] It's the symbol of the Never Embers. [2755.0s] Oh, yes. [2756.5s] And they say a picture says a thousand words. [2761.0s] You know what the symbol for the Never Embers is, don't you? [2763.6s] Of course it's it's not embers. [2769.0s] That's for sure. [2770.6s] Never would they put embers. [2772.9s] No, ma'am, I don't know. [2774.3s] I don't know. [2775.5s] I don't know what the symbol is. [2777.3s] Okay, it's it's a like an oculus singular. [2785.5s] Like a like a looky-loo. [2787.4s] What's a looky-loo? [2788.6s] Like something you look through. [2790.4s] Well, it's no, it's just like one glass. [2792.8s] Yes, like the one glass. [2794.0s] Ah, the one like a monocle. [2796.8s] Sure, if that's what you call it here. [2799.5s] Anyways, it's got that a chain that wraps around it some fires from below. [2806.8s] Well, it's really pretentious. [2808.6s] Right? [2809.2s] Yeah. [2809.8s] This is why we need this ledger. [2811.2s] Very pretentious. [2812.1s] We have to bring down the pretension. [2814.0s] I'm ready. [2815.4s] Hold on. [2815.8s] I'm going to write this symbol down. [2818.0s] Have you been to Castle Never? [2819.4s] Do you know how you're going to get in there? [2821.8s] No, but I get invited to many places. [2825.4s] Merv speaks up. [2826.3s] He's like, I've seen it. [2827.9s] I know kind of whereabouts his office is. [2831.4s] See, and this is why we need Merv. [2833.2s] Can't believe you didn't want me to bring Merv. [2835.3s] Well, good. [2835.8s] I mean, at least one of you is worth something. [2838.0s] So you bring the ledger back to me and then... [2842.7s] Hug it out and you set me free. [2845.0s] Us free. [2846.5s] Is that what we agreed on? [2847.7s] That is, yeah. [2849.7s] So, okay, you go free. [2850.8s] Don't worry about it. [2851.4s] Well, hold on a second. [2852.2s] If I come back, are you going to let me go? [2854.2s] Yeah, absolutely. [2855.1s] Well, it certainly doesn't sound like that. [2856.0s] I am a cat of my word. [2859.2s] I don't believe you, but I'm searching for some excitement in my life. [2864.5s] That those three walls and one bar just can't offer me. [2870.6s] I'll take my chances at Castle Ember. [2873.6s] Well, good. [2874.8s] Off you go then. [2876.5s] Okay, thank you. [2877.1s] I start to gather up my shit. [2880.8s] I hop her desk. [2882.3s] She watches you. [2883.8s] I have a bag. [2884.6s] Does anybody have a bag? [2886.0s] Didn't you have this all on you when you came in here? [2888.4s] Yeah, you took my bag. [2891.0s] She holds up the bag on the desk. [2893.2s] Yeah, that one. [2894.2s] Start to fill it. [2896.8s] Come on, Murph. [2898.6s] Yeah, I'm already. [2899.8s] Okay. [2900.1s] All right. [2900.3s] Yeah, Castle Ember waits for no person. [2905.6s] You are led back out into the street. [2908.4s] Murph, I don't fully trust this. [2911.8s] I mispronounced the castle name twice and nobody corrected me. [2915.8s] I don't think anybody knows what's happening here. [2917.8s] Pretty sure they're aware that you probably don't know what's happening. [2921.5s] Fair enough, yeah. [2922.5s] Um, but if all we have to do is go in, get a ledger and get out, [2927.6s] then we might be able to hedge our bets. [2931.2s] All right. [2931.6s] Lead the way, trusty steed. [2934.0s] Yah! [2935.4s] Yah! [2935.8s] What a thing to say to your new partner. [2939.8s] You follow Murph through the streets. [2943.2s] It's getting to be about dusk now. [2946.2s] And he leads you to a large gate that surrounds [2953.2s] Castle Never. [2954.0s] And he says, look, there it is. [2956.1s] All right. [2956.7s] Now it's your job. [2958.2s] How are we getting in there? [2961.2s] We knock. [2963.1s] You're going to knock on cat? [2964.5s] What are you going to say when you knock on the door? [2967.0s] They'll come to me. [2968.6s] I love this plan. [2969.4s] I love this plan. [2971.4s] Do you want me to hang back or do you want me to come in? [2973.8s] Oh, no, no, we're partners. [2975.3s] Great. [2975.6s] You're right in this. [2976.4s] Yeah. [2977.0s] Just don't look. [2977.9s] Don't have that look. [2979.4s] What look? [2979.9s] Fix your face. [2981.6s] You're still doing it. [2983.1s] No, that's also weird. [2984.8s] Can you look like you have a purpose? [2986.2s] A little different. [2988.0s] No, don't do weird things with your arms. [2990.1s] Put your hands down. [2990.9s] You look like you're hiding something. [2992.9s] Oh, God. [2994.5s] Okay, let's go. [2996.2s] Okay. [2999.2s] So you walk up to the gate and there's two guards standing at the gate to Castle Never. [3005.8s] Good sirs or ma'am. [3008.5s] Are they fully arbored? [3010.5s] Yes. [3010.9s] Well, that's why I can't tell. [3013.7s] What do you want? [3014.8s] I am here on behalf of Lord Neverember. [3021.4s] You're here on behalf of Lord Neverember? [3023.8s] Yes. [3024.3s] He said I have to come in. [3027.5s] For what purpose? [3028.7s] I can't believe you have. [3031.6s] My name is Sullivan's Light. [3035.4s] Great. [3037.0s] Are you saying you've never heard of me? [3040.0s] No. [3043.0s] I make only the best linens for all of the kings and queens and lords and ladies of the lands. [3052.6s] Okay. [3054.2s] My linen services have been requested here. [3057.8s] Deception. [3060.1s] Eighteen. [3062.6s] And nobody keeps a linenery waiting. [3066.5s] Lord Neverember didn't say anything about linens. [3070.4s] I'm sorry. [3071.0s] Does he talk to you about his underwear as well? [3073.3s] Do you know how personal a man's linens are, sir or ma'am? [3078.4s] He goes over to a booth and he says usually he tells me if he's expecting [3084.2s] particularly individuals. [3086.5s] Right here he's got his shoemaker. [3091.1s] Right here he's got his favorite cook. [3094.4s] Right here he's got his underwear maker. [3096.9s] And it's not Sullivan's Light. [3098.9s] Who does he have making his underwear, sir? [3102.0s] Because I have been called in for linens, which I assumed included underwear as well. [3108.6s] And if there is someone else encroaching in on my underwear game, [3113.2s] I need to talk to Lord Neverember to tell him how much of a mistake [3117.8s] he is making going with these other people. [3120.3s] Lord Neverember's not here. [3122.5s] He's off to fight the battle of the linens. [3126.2s] Battle against the cult of the dragon. [3128.9s] And when he comes back and does not have a smooth set of soft, cool silk sheets [3136.6s] to crawl into at night after he is done battling for your freedom, [3142.0s] you can tell him. [3144.6s] Can I like roll intimidation? [3146.4s] Yeah, what are you trying to do here? [3147.4s] Are you trying to intimidate or persuade? [3149.0s] I'm trying to like, I don't know, both. [3151.4s] I'm trying to- [3152.3s] Yeah, well pick which one's the best for you. [3154.4s] Is there a convince roll? [3156.7s] They're the same. [3159.3s] 17. [3161.3s] He looks quite taken aback. [3164.7s] Sure, tell me. [3165.3s] I don't want to disappoint. [3167.0s] How do you feel when you, after a hard day's work, [3170.9s] crawl into a freshly made bed? [3174.6s] I mean, my bed's very rarely made, but I mean, I assume it's very good. [3178.6s] Right? [3179.1s] Yeah. [3179.8s] Best feeling in the world. [3181.6s] You want to take that away from your lord? [3184.1s] Yeah, no. [3185.3s] He looks over to his friend and his friend's like, [3189.9s] I'm getting involved in this, man. [3191.7s] It's kind of luck you're getting from him. [3193.6s] So, okay, so do you have like a card or something, [3198.8s] some sort of writ that says that who you are, who you say you are? [3206.8s] I have slight of hand. [3209.0s] Can that just mean to work like instead of stealing, [3211.8s] but like to show something really fast, [3213.8s] like how FBI show their badges? [3215.4s] Like, sorry, sorry, how do they do it? [3223.6s] So you're trying to show them a badge to say you're a linen maker. [3227.7s] You're an underwear maker. [3229.5s] Yeah. [3230.7s] It's a very strong guild. [3232.0s] Yeah, sure. [3233.0s] I get it. [3233.5s] We take our job very seriously. [3236.2s] Okay, yeah. [3237.3s] Um, perhaps let's say you can use slight of hand, [3244.6s] but you use it to quickly. [3247.0s] Can I like quickly backwards behind, [3248.9s] write something official sounding? [3252.2s] Okay, okay. [3255.1s] It's a nat 20 plus six, 26. [3258.7s] No problem. [3259.4s] Like Merv sees you do it because he's standing behind you. [3262.6s] But otherwise, there's like fucking blown away by my penmanship. [3265.4s] Blown away by this behind the back, [3268.0s] like upside down penmanship that you're doing. [3271.3s] But you managed to write whatever you want to write on this page. [3277.6s] And you go to hand it to him. [3279.4s] And what does it say? [3280.6s] It says, [3281.8s] Linenary Guild of Faerun, Sir Sullivan Sleight, [3288.2s] Esquire, Linenary Extraordinaire, [3292.8s] um, to see Lord Neverember's bedroom chambers [3298.3s] in order to outfit with new linens upon his arrival. [3302.6s] He looks this over and it's, [3306.2s] I mean, there's even like, [3307.4s] So now I got a stamp on it. [3309.0s] There's like a sealed something on it. [3312.2s] It's official as fuck. [3315.7s] To him, it looks completely official. [3318.0s] Oh, all right. [3318.8s] I'm sorry, Mr. Sir Sullivan Sleight. [3323.1s] He opens the gates and here's your visitor's badge. [3328.0s] Thank you. [3328.3s] One for my associate, please. [3330.9s] He looks to Merv and so are you a linen, linen? [3335.8s] Do you do linens too? [3338.2s] Yeah, I do the best linens. [3341.5s] Untrue. [3342.2s] He is but a apprentice. [3345.7s] That's the one. [3346.5s] I am an apprentice of linens. [3349.5s] All right. [3350.2s] Hence you both your badges and [3352.9s] ushers you towards the front gate of the Castle Neverember. [3356.4s] Thank you. [3357.5s] Of course. [3357.8s] I won't mention it to Lord Neverember. [3359.6s] Thank you. [3360.1s] Thank you for, thank you for that, Sir Sullivan Sleight. [3365.0s] And we walk up to the- [3366.2s] You walk up a long path to the front entrance, [3369.7s] um, and the doors open for you as you get to the top there. [3376.5s] And you find yourself in Castle Neverember and Merv says, [3379.8s] well, uh, I didn't think we'd get past that. [3382.6s] But, um, uh, yeah, his, his office is on the top, [3387.4s] top of the castle. [3388.4s] So I guess we head up there. [3392.9s] Okay. [3394.5s] Are you trying to just go straight up or are you going sneakily? [3397.4s] What are you trying to do? [3398.2s] Let's sneak. [3399.1s] Let's sneak. [3399.7s] We're like, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves, [3403.1s] but if we're there, we obviously have a 16. [3406.7s] You stealthily, um, make your way through. [3409.8s] There's, there aren't too many people kind of milling about. [3412.5s] It is kind of later hours. [3413.8s] So there are a few guards that you kind of stop and make your way past [3417.6s] without them noticing you, uh, Merv as well. [3421.6s] And you make your way up to the top of the castle [3426.2s] and there's a single door up at the top of the flight of stairs. [3429.4s] Um, it's a large carved, uh, entryway, big, huge wooden door, [3435.8s] massive silver and brass handle. [3439.6s] As far as it goes, I'm pretty sure this is where his office is. [3443.4s] Well, I go up and I touch it. [3444.6s] I go, Ooh, this is fancy. [3449.3s] Have you never seen a door? [3451.0s] No, but this one's super nice. [3453.2s] I try the handle. [3454.5s] It's locked. [3455.8s] I take out my thieves tools and I pick it. [3462.2s] Is that? [3463.5s] It's light of hand. [3464.2s] Okay. [3465.8s] 25. [3466.7s] Damn. [3468.2s] Frank, these big dice. [3469.6s] Big dice, it's crushing it. [3471.4s] So it takes you a minute, um, before you kind of feel where, [3476.1s] where the mechanism is, but- [3477.8s] I'm a very romantic tune as I do it. [3481.0s] Merv's kind of just standing watch. [3483.4s] But it takes you a minute to kind of find it. [3485.0s] But once you do, it's like butter thing opens up [3488.5s] and you feel the door open and swing open and into the room. [3493.6s] And inside there's a large wooden desk. [3496.6s] There's lots of tapestries hung by the walls [3499.7s] and two huge bookshelves filled with different writings and scrolls. [3506.5s] Hey, do you think if we pull on enough books, [3508.2s] we're going to find that one of these bookshelves swings open [3511.8s] and there's going to be a secret passageway down inside? [3516.2s] Uh, I mean, maybe, [3518.8s] but we should probably just find the ledger and get out of here. [3520.8s] Sure, but yeah, if we have a few extra minutes, [3522.5s] I think we should totally look for a secret passage. [3524.3s] Okay, okay. [3525.8s] Maybe we should just kind of look around. [3527.0s] Yeah, no, for sure. [3527.8s] I go to the desk. [3529.0s] Make an investigation check. [3532.6s] 13. [3534.3s] You rifle through some of the papers on the desk [3537.7s] and you don't find anything on top. [3540.4s] There are four drawers along the side. [3543.0s] I would like to go through the drawers starting at the bottom. [3545.9s] You pull on them and they are locked. [3548.0s] Oh, I have to pick these too. [3549.7s] You see Merv kind of going through the books on the shelves. [3554.2s] 13. [3555.3s] It takes you a little longer with each lock as you go through, [3558.0s] but you manage to get them. [3559.8s] And you pull open the first three locked drawers. [3566.2s] Yeah, you don't find the ledger. [3567.4s] You find lots of different papers and official looking documents, [3571.3s] but nothing from as far as the ledger that you're looking for. [3573.8s] I scroll a couple smiley faces on the corners of some of the papers. [3577.3s] The more important looking ones. [3579.4s] Okay, good. [3580.9s] Noted. [3582.0s] Do you sign your name to them too? [3583.8s] I do not. [3585.9s] Sully's no dumb. [3587.0s] No dummy. [3587.8s] Okay, yeah, the third one you get to, [3592.1s] you manage to open up and inside underneath a few pieces of paper [3595.8s] is a ledger matching the description that Ms. Ma'am Meow Meow gave you. [3603.1s] I take it out and I open it. [3608.6s] You see written in a language that you do not recognize. [3616.1s] It looks like there could be different subjects or names [3621.2s] followed by a colon and a list of different things. [3626.0s] You can't read it though. [3627.5s] I have no idea what the language is. [3629.4s] No idea. [3629.9s] It's not something you've ever seen before. [3631.5s] Merv! [3633.2s] You look up and you see Merv, he's got a few books in his hand as well. [3638.1s] What? [3639.2s] He's got a few books in his hand. [3641.2s] What you got? [3642.8s] Just some things. [3645.0s] You stealing. [3647.2s] Some things I wanted to learn and catch up on. [3649.7s] What you stealing? [3650.8s] There's a book on fishery practices and taxes [3656.2s] and the best trade routes through the canals. [3662.6s] So just workbooks. [3664.5s] It's workbooks. [3666.5s] You said there were three. [3667.8s] You only told me two. [3670.2s] Two of them are tax related. [3672.4s] Oh, yeah, that sounds about right. [3673.8s] Wow, those are boring as all get out. [3676.1s] I mean, that's why I'm in jail is I got caught on like taxes and goods and stuff. [3680.3s] There you go. [3680.8s] You learn at you. [3681.8s] Yeah. [3682.2s] You don't make the same mistake twice. [3683.5s] I appreciate that. [3683.9s] Slip them into his bag and he comes over and looks. [3687.4s] You understand any of this? [3689.9s] I mean, no. [3692.3s] It looks like an old language. [3696.3s] I'm kind of limited in the languages I know. [3698.6s] I know. [3698.9s] But you're old. [3700.1s] I'm not that old. [3701.5s] How old are you? [3703.6s] That's an awfully personal question. [3706.2s] I'm like 32. [3707.1s] Shit. [3709.5s] Really? [3710.1s] Yeah. [3710.6s] Dude. [3711.4s] Dude hasn't aged very well. [3712.6s] The sea has not been kind to you, my friend. [3714.7s] No, apparently not. [3717.9s] With that, you hear a noise, a loud crack coming from outside a window in the room. [3727.1s] You see a bright purple and black light come and it shines and illuminates in the window. [3735.1s] And three figures come through. [3738.4s] They're robed. [3741.4s] Uh, Murph. [3743.5s] They see you and Murph's like, um, what's this? [3749.0s] They see you, they turn to you, and they draw weapons. [3752.1s] Oh, shit. [3753.7s] What are you doing here? [3756.8s] Who are you? [3758.8s] They pull their arrows tighter and said, we are asking the questions. [3763.4s] I, can I make a sleight of hand to sneakily slip the book, the ledger into my bag? [3769.6s] Yep. [3772.8s] Fuck. [3774.0s] It's now good. [3774.9s] Nine. [3776.3s] What's that? [3777.0s] What do you have there? [3778.7s] Oh, here? [3779.4s] Can I make another sleight of hand roll to take something different off of the [3783.1s] desk to show them? [3784.7s] One of them looses an arrow and it clipped Murph's shoulder. [3789.1s] Rude. [3790.6s] He kind of stumbles back. [3792.4s] You can make a sleight of hand if you want to. [3794.5s] Oh, good. [3795.0s] That's a 19. [3795.8s] So 25. [3797.5s] Um, I mean, he, he sees that you slipped something into your bag [3802.2s] and now have something different in your hand. [3804.3s] Yeah. [3805.1s] Um, it's like, no. [3807.9s] And they move towards you and Murph. [3811.8s] I pick up a heavy bottle of ink from the desk [3817.8s] and I throw it in their eyes to blind them so we can escape. [3822.7s] Okay. [3823.2s] I make a straight dex check. [3825.6s] Oh, fuck these dice. [3826.9s] I gave you one compliment. [3828.5s] 14. [3829.5s] Yeah, you hit one of them in the face, but there's one who's talking [3834.3s] and appears to be the leader and then another one is moving towards Murph [3838.4s] and he moves to grab him. [3842.2s] But he doesn't cause Murph is like, real slippery person. [3845.3s] Murph rolled a nat one. [3846.6s] So he grabs Murph and begins pulling him back towards [3851.8s] as the other one's trying to wipe the ink from his eyes. [3855.3s] Well, I should do something about this. [3857.4s] They're moving back towards the portal. [3860.4s] Oh, it was a portal. [3862.8s] You could presume. [3863.8s] It was a light. [3864.6s] You're several stories up in the air. [3867.0s] I'm going to acrobatic, like, parkour, like, [3873.0s] foot on the desk, foot on the chair, [3876.6s] hop to grab Murph and like pull him to the side [3881.8s] and away from the backing up to the portal. [3884.5s] Make an acrobatics check. [3887.1s] 13. [3888.5s] You do that. [3889.1s] It looks super cool. [3890.2s] Nice. [3891.3s] However, as you're jumping and leaping towards Murph, [3894.5s] the one with the ink in his eyes kind of clears it just in time to see you [3898.8s] and jumps and tackles you to the ground. [3901.6s] You see Murph and the other one and the person or thing [3905.5s] who took him go through the portal [3908.2s] and the other one follows and calls to him saying, [3911.7s] bring him to. [3913.3s] I'm tackled on the floor right now? [3914.9s] Yeah. [3915.6s] I'm going to intimidate, I think. [3919.0s] So Murph is basically already through the portal. [3921.5s] Yeah, Murph is gone. [3922.7s] I'm just working on not going through the portal myself. [3925.3s] I'm going to intimidate in a very strange way. [3927.3s] I'm going to like, as he's got me around the waist, [3930.5s] I'm going to like hook my legs around him and like cuddle his face [3936.5s] and be like, I haven't been held in so long [3940.5s] and just like make him like super uncomfortable [3943.2s] and like really nuzzle into his neck. [3945.6s] I don't know if there's a proper thing for that. [3947.5s] Sure, go intimidate. [3950.6s] Trying to like. [3952.2s] Make him feel uncomfortable. [3953.7s] Yeah. [3956.6s] Nine. [3957.5s] You know, I think you make him feel uncomfortable enough [3960.6s] to try and like pry you off [3962.1s] and give some space between you and him [3964.2s] before he starts to move back towards you. [3966.0s] No, but it was so nice. [3967.4s] So you have space between him. [3968.6s] The door's behind you. [3969.8s] The portal is off to the other side of the room. [3972.5s] Both the other assailants have walked through with Murph. [3976.2s] If I turn to run, will he get any sort of, okay. [3980.9s] No, we're in a skills check, not a combat. [3982.3s] Okay, I'm going to make an athletics check then to run. [3986.1s] Sure. [3986.4s] I guess. [3988.4s] Fuck me. [3989.2s] Three. [3990.4s] Have I forgotten how to run? [3992.5s] Well, we'll say it's an acrobatics [3993.9s] because athletics is strength. [3995.8s] Acrobatics is for, yeah. [3997.9s] So yeah, you turn to run [4001.2s] and you feel this guy has jumped [4005.1s] and has grabbed your ankle and you fall to the ground [4008.0s] and he is now trying to pull at your legs. [4010.3s] I, as I'm being pulled, so we're like midway to the door. [4019.9s] Yeah, you're kind of almost at the door. [4021.8s] Like you could, in theory, you were like a few feet from it. [4026.2s] He's now got you. [4027.6s] He's laying on the ground as well [4029.2s] and he's like pulling at your legs. [4031.4s] Okay, I think I might have to attack this poor guy. [4035.6s] However. [4036.4s] He's not a poor guy. [4037.3s] Yeah, that poor guy. [4038.6s] You're a level one character. [4039.9s] Will be when I'm done with them. [4041.6s] I have acrobar. [4044.5s] Yeah, you do. [4046.1s] What kind of attack? [4047.3s] Like obviously whacking him. [4049.1s] And I'm gonna. [4049.9s] Gonna be plus your strength modifier. [4052.7s] Which is huge because you're half length, so it's low. [4055.0s] Yeah, it's minus one. [4056.0s] Go down. [4056.5s] What kind of weapons proficiencies you have? [4060.6s] Weapon. [4063.0s] Simple weapons. [4063.8s] Yeah, that would count as a simple weapon. [4065.1s] So you plus proficiency. [4066.2s] So it would be plus one to attack. [4068.8s] Okay. [4072.2s] Twelve. [4072.7s] Yeah, you clock him in the head. [4073.9s] Good. [4074.8s] Hard enough to kind of stun him. [4077.1s] But you have a straight shot to the door now. [4078.9s] I run. [4080.6s] You make your way down the door. [4082.1s] You don't hear him kind of calling. [4084.1s] You see, you look up as you're kind of rounding these stairs. [4088.0s] You see the purple and black light go out. [4091.8s] And you make it down to the bottom and then you hear a bell ringing. [4096.6s] Loud and echoing down through the chamber as you leave the front door. [4100.2s] And you see the two guards turn to you withdrawing their weapons. [4103.8s] And they say, what's going on in there? [4106.5s] I, I stop running and I casually stroll over to them. [4111.2s] And I say, are you aware that there are people [4115.8s] portaling in to the castle and stealing lininaries? [4123.0s] I don't really care about the lininaries. [4124.7s] But if there's portals, like we saw it, [4127.9s] one of them begins to run in. [4129.3s] The other one goes back to the gate to stand watch, stand guard. [4133.8s] And you hear a commotion inside. [4137.0s] But you, as of right now, are free to carry on. [4140.9s] Okay. I carry on out of there. [4143.1s] You make your way out into the main street. [4146.2s] You're walking down the street back towards wherever you're going. [4151.5s] I'm headed to the first bar I see. [4154.2s] Okay. [4154.4s] That was very stressful. [4155.8s] Sully hasn't had a drink in, I don't know how long he's been in that prison. [4160.2s] You make it to a building where there looks to be a lot of people gathering. [4164.1s] There's no real sign outside. [4167.3s] But as you're walking in, you come face to face with a rather tall [4173.7s] and imposing Dragonborn. [4176.6s] For the love of Pete, you're big. [4179.4s] I am pretty big. [4181.4s] You are a little bit smaller than me, though. [4185.4s] Yes. Yes. [4186.5s] That is, that was implied. [4188.3s] That was implied. [4189.6s] Make a perception check, Lynn. [4191.9s] Well, I mean, I have a plus one, so that's a problem. [4194.6s] Wait, am I perceiving that he's smaller than me? [4197.0s] Just some spatial awareness. [4198.3s] Eyes at 18. [4201.1s] So you hear bells ringing off in the castle off, [4204.7s] which you, throughout your travels and speaking with people in the city, [4208.2s] have come to know as Castle Never. [4210.8s] You notice that Sully may have a tinge of panic behind the eyes, [4217.2s] but you also see a very, like the bag that Sully is carrying. [4223.6s] You don't know Sully, but the bag that this halfling is carrying [4226.7s] is kind of half open and there's a very impressive looking book inside. [4236.4s] Well, we've been staring at each other for a little bit, [4238.8s] so I feel inclined to ask you your name. [4241.8s] Okay. [4242.2s] That socially thing. [4243.2s] That's a social thing. [4244.3s] What's your name? [4245.8s] I'm Glim. [4247.0s] Who are you? [4248.0s] The name's Sullivan Sleight. [4250.3s] You can call me Sully. [4251.4s] Oh, thanks, Sully. [4255.6s] Looks like I'm hearing a lot of noise and commotion. [4260.7s] Sounds like they might be looking for something important [4265.0s] and I like make a significant glance down toward his bag. [4269.7s] Really? [4270.2s] Because I thought those were party bells. [4271.9s] See, I'm new here in the city. [4273.4s] I literally just got out of prison. [4277.0s] Wrongfully accused, mind you. [4280.3s] And I was just looking to, [4281.4s] do you know where there's like a good place we can sit down and have a beer? [4285.8s] I assume we're at the Fallen Tower, are we? [4288.1s] Or like near the Fallen Tower? [4289.3s] Was that where the people were gathering? [4291.2s] You're on another side of the city, [4292.6s] so you're at a different tavern to be named. [4296.7s] Oh, okay. [4298.4s] Well, you know, I'm staying at a nice place, [4300.4s] but it's a long way away. [4301.6s] Why don't we should just... [4303.9s] Do you want to maybe have a drink? [4305.9s] Sure, you're from here? [4307.3s] I just got here, just last night. [4310.4s] Whoa, well, tell me about your travels. [4322.6s] Um, maybe I'll ask my good friend... [4335.7s] Melania. [4336.4s] No, just kidding. [4337.3s] Do you want to make up a name for us? [4338.7s] That I thought, because that is not what it's going to be. [4341.0s] Too political. [4341.9s] Guys, it's easy. [4342.9s] Moot is just Tom backwards. [4346.0s] Which I didn't even put together when I named the character that. [4348.4s] Then I was like, oh, all right. [4349.9s] I saw it on like the screen and I was like, [4352.4s] oh, yep, yep. [4353.8s] Sure did that. [4354.5s] I'm changing my character name to Al Rack. [4357.4s] And that's a good character name. [4359.2s] That's awesome. [4360.6s] Yeah, Al Rack is totally... [4362.0s] Yeah, see, these are all D&D names. [4363.9s] These are great. [4366.1s] I got to write these down here. [4369.8s] These will be key characters later, so... [4372.2s] Definitely, big players. [4373.7s] Well, they might... [4374.5s] You never know. [4375.2s] You never know with us. [4377.1s] That's also a really good point, Tom. [4379.8s] Giant dice. [4380.8s] Roll to 16. [4382.2s] Add my bonus. [4384.4s] Spider-Man. [4387.2s] It was a really good bonus, you guys. [4389.8s] All of a sudden, I'm Spider-Man. [4392.3s] What time of the morning is it? [4395.4s] It's probably fairly early. [4397.8s] We'd say, you know, seven-ish. [4402.7s] OK, well, I'm supposed to meet What's-his-nuts-at-noon, correct? [4406.2s] What's-his-nuts-at-noon, correct? [4409.0s] You're inspiring, mentor? [4411.0s] Yeah, that's the one. [4411.7s] Oh, what's-his-nuts? [4412.7s] Oh, what's-his-nuts. [4414.4s] Old drunk McGee. [4416.1s] Calls to you and says, you found everything OK. [4418.6s] I can't remember if that was her voice, but it is now. [4420.6s] Oh, she had a lot of Irish going on. [4421.8s] Yeah, they sometimes do. [4424.0s] You guys are so fucking sweet. [4426.2s] And I feel like Sully is going to come in and just like fuck this shit up. [4430.2s] It's going to be adorable, adorable, adorable, friendship, love. [4434.5s] Keyster. [4438.2s] And I'm just going to suck all that adorableness like right up my bum. [4440.8s] Right up your keys. [4442.6s] This is why we need this ledger. [4444.0s] Very pretentious. [4444.9s] We have to bring down the pretension. [4447.0s] I'm ready. [4448.2s] Hold on. [4448.6s] I'm going to write this symbol down. [4449.9s] I mean, you've heard of toppling the patriarchy. [4452.3s] Wait till you try to topple the pretension.
